About
We are the power soccer division of Sacramento Republic FC and compete in the United States Power Soccer Association. We are also the only power soccer team in the Sacramento area.
Power soccer is a team sport played on a regulation-sized basketball court. Players maneuver their wheelchairs equipped with specialized footguards to pass, dribble, and shoot an oversized soccer ball. The objective is to score more goals than the opposing team within the two twenty minute halves, making it a dynamic game for both participants and spectators. Combining the strategy and energy of traditional soccer with accessibility, power soccer provides a unique and competitive environment for players with physical disabilities. For more info about power soccer you can visit the USPSA site.
There are no age or gender categories. Participants include people with quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, and other disabilities.
